Alessandro Abbà

He graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Pavia in 2005. On 3 February 2009 he obtained a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pavia, with a thesis on the recovery of special waste in the construction sector. Since 2018, he has been a fixed-term researcher in the disciplinary scientific sector Sanitary-Environmental Engineering (ICAR/03) at the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Land, Environment and Mathematics of the University of Brescia. In November 2018, he obtained the national scientific qualification for the functions of Professor of the second rank in the concurrency sector 08/A2 ""Sanitary-environmental engineering, engineering of hydrocarbons and fluids in the subsoil, safety and protection in the civil field"". Since 2005 he has been conducting research in the following areas: optimisation of wastewater treatment plants, study of advanced biological processes for industrial wastewater treatment, minimisation and management of sewage sludge, evaluation of waste recovery in the construction sector. He is the author of more than 100 publications in national and international scientific journals. He is guest-editor for the international journals Applied Sciences and Water (MDPI publisher).
