Mr Solid Waste
Description of the waste cycle, in which the invented character (GUSTAVO, Mr Solid Waste) explains where waste is formed (in houses, streets, factories, etc.), how much waste is produced (a large amount: about 1.5 kg per inhabitant per day) and what the composition of urban solid waste is. They then illustrate the separate waste collection systems (which, for their success, also require the commitment of the citizen as well as the public service) that must "help" the final phase of treatment and disposal. The final destiny of the waste (with biological, chemical, thermal treatments, etc.) must be "intelligent", in the sense of reusing the material and energy content of the waste itself as much as possible ("circular economy").
