Using rice to solve the water purification problem: our research paper
Substances may be present in drinking water, sometimes even in trace amounts, these can be hazardous to human health. One of the processes that is sometimes evaluated as a solution to their removal is adsorption on activated carbon. In this project, our team tested alternative adsorbent materials for the dual purpose of removing pollutants in drinking water and recovering waste materials from, in this specific case, the agricultural sector. The results showed that these materials, once subjected to an appropriate activation process, can be promising adsorbents of pollutants even in small traces.
